Improving access to mental health support is a key priority for the Minister for Mental Health.

While most employees in large organisations can access an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), many smaller to medium-sized businesses do not offer structured EAP support and may also be unaware of free mental health services and wellbeing resources in New Zealand.

To help address this gap, the toolkit pulls together information about a range of free mental health services and wellbeing resources in New Zealand, including:

1737, which provides free 24/7 phone and text counselling support

Access and Choice services offering community-based mental health support

Digital wellbeing tools, including Groov, the Top Up campaign and self-help wellbeing resources through the Mental Health Foundation.

The toolkit is targeted towards smaller to medium-sized businesses across New Zealand but can be used by anyone.
